A Panty-style, front-closure that is specially constructed to hold in the "tummy" without compression.
An ordinary girdle actually forces the flesh up above the top of the girdle and many times below the legs of the girdle.
The new Shape-Up garment is open in the back for a very good reason... it prevents the gathering of the flesh above the top of the garment and on the legs. At the same time, it gives a lift to the Gluteus Muscles in the Derriere that have a tendency to sag once we reach maturity. It is unfortunate that our sedentary way of life does not permit us to have exercise that would strengthen the Gluteus Maximus Muscle.
